Morocco is a culturally rich, warm and inexpensive country. Fez has got to be the one of the most interesting cities in the world. Marrakesh is nice but has comparatively more tourists. Essouria is a quieter friendlier coastal town. It used to be a hippie haven.

Morocco is in the northwest corner of Africa, proabaly a thousand miles or more from the middle east. Most Muslim countries are not in the middle east, including the largest, Indonesia. Egypt, Algeria, Lybia, Chad, Somalia, and other Muslim countries are in Africa.

The part of the world Morocco lies in, i.e North Africa is known as "the Maghreb" or the West. That is because it is the western most part of the Muslim world. The Maghreb used to include Spain before the Moors were turned out of there.
